How to Use This Internet Speed Test

This tool measures your internet connection's download speed, upload speed, and ping (latency). Follow these steps for accurate results:

  1. 1 Prepare Your Connection: Close unnecessary apps and browser tabs that might use bandwidth. For best results, connect your computer directly to your router with an Ethernet cable.
  2. 2 Select Server (Optional): Choose a testing server location. "Auto" selects the best server based on your location. For specific needs, you can select a region manually.
  3. 3 Start the Test: Click the "Start Speed Test" button. The test will automatically measure your ping, download speed, and upload speed.
  4. 4 Wait for Completion: Don't use the internet for other activities during the test. The process takes 30-60 seconds to complete.
  5. 5 Review Results: Check your download speed (how fast you can receive data), upload speed (how fast you can send data), and ping (response time).

Understanding Your Results:

  • Download Speed: Affects streaming, browsing, and downloading files. 25+ Mbps is good for HD streaming.
  • Upload Speed: Important for video calls, gaming, and sharing files. 5+ Mbps is good for most activities.
  • Ping (Latency): Measures response time. Lower is better. Under 50ms is excellent for gaming.
  • Jitter: Measures connection stability. Lower values mean more stable connection.

Tips for Accurate Testing:

  • Test at different times of day to see how your speeds vary
  • Run multiple tests for more accurate average results
  • Compare results with your internet plan's advertised speeds
  • If speeds are consistently slow, contact your ISP

Note: This speed test provides approximate results. Actual speeds may vary based on network conditions, server load, and other factors. For professional testing, consider using your ISP's official speed test.
